A stitch in time they say saves 9…I have had many occurrences where it has saved 1,000,000.
Recently I have come to see(realize) that ignorance and procrastination kill vision, dreams, goals, aspirations and destiny!!
What is that thing you need to do?
What is that research you need to embark on? What’s that information you need to know? What is that skill you need to acquire?
And when you finally have the answers you don’t only do it, you do it at the right time…do it IMMEDIATELY!!
You dont know the height you can reach until you FLY!!
You can soar higher and farther than the others…greater than you have ever imagined; just choose to be proactive!!
Paint the scenario in your mind, outline the certainties and uncertainties, deal with the risk, do provisioning for possible losses and FLY!!
Do that thing right now!!
With all the fears still go ahead and do it,line upon line precept upon precepts a lil here a lil there…
As it goes on, consistently, other aspects begin to unfold!!
Fear goes away, the light begins to penetrate even if it comes as rays initially, don’t worry the intensity will definitely get stronger!
Don’t ever regret the lost time, opportunities, advantages, positions, and whatever it is that you might have misplaced or wasted, you should learn from it, self examine yourself, outline your mistakes and lapses….know them like you know your right hand so that you won’t go that route ‘again’ you won’t make that kind of bad choice ‘again’ AND you would do stuff at the right time.
Feel bad if you have to. ..cry if you have to, dont ever suppress your emotions!!!
Have HOPE…. dont ever loose it!!
The kind of HOPE that does not despair….the one that JESUS gives me….”because He lives I can face tomorrow”
Let Love reign supreme in your heart, I mean don’t be filled with resentment….purge yourself of all hate…
Love yourself so you can love others too.
There is no substitute for life ….you gotta live it right this very first time!
Do you mind sharing what you have done at the right time that has saved you a lot?
Or what you did not do that cost you so much?
Please feel free to share this at the comment section!
We sometimes do not appreciate others to the fullest capacity at which we should.
Some are Lucky because they have the chance to re-think and re-evaluate so they can finally admire others and appreciate roles they have played in their lives.
This thought process of acknowledging the role of people is stirred by memories of people that have transcended the shores of mortals and it has become impossible to see, feel, touch or laugh with them anymore. At least not in this territory called “Earth“.
Other set of people are those that due to life happenings you became far apart, living in different continent with a new way of life and other things that makes us to miss each others daily activities.
There are others who due to our resolutions and goals have separated us and reduced the intimacy in our relationships.
We should often make the best use of every time and situation we have and make the best of relationships, be it family, workplace or any other.
Cherish the friends you can literally touch, hug, smile with and at, gist and sleep beside, these moments won’t last forever.
Take not for granted those far away that you can still visit, check up on them.
Appreciate the ones you can call, face time, video call and Skype.
For the ones that have due to resolution or decision become strangers, you can only wonder or try to understand why it has become so, after which you will choose either to cherish the past times or do away with the memories.
For those you cannot see anymore , we can pray that they rest in peace, miss them and then pray for them once again.
To those that have lost a loved one either to death, bad relationship or personal decision I pray for the fortitude to bear the Loss and Pain.
I also pray for you :strength to carry on!!
My people take the comment section of this page to mention that person you miss, pray for that person you lost
Message that person that is still alive!
Profess your Love, show how much you care!!
Make that call!!! Appreciate those that are still near and dear to your heart!!!
It’s been quite a journey, one that has shaped my life I must confess. Most times we generate certain emotion about an issue or occurrence not because we are not strong enough for that phase but because we were not prepared for it neither did we catch a glimpse of the possibility of its happening. The suddenness of the event causes us to be disappointed in both ourselves for not intuiting and the institution or entity that seemingly ‘failed’ us.
If I fail to mention all that I will never forget, I cannot but gist and enumerate incidences that will linger for a long long time. They need not be peculiar to Diamond as a Banking/Financial Institution in Nigeria or even the world at large but they are memories created for me to hold as long as I can by my dear DIAMOND.
I remember my Training School days, my training school class (The ICONS) and the whole Training School Experience. It all started on the 7th of May 2012,in the Abuja training school, I was still a little bit clueless about some aspect of life, young, beautiful and Petite IFE.
We the ICONs were a class of 55, the discipline instilled, the classroom examples and the expectation and anticipation to be a qualified and refined diamond ‘no be here’ I can’t forget the HR woman, Mary Helen, her dedication to work for me was equal to none, although she was removed before training school was barely half way, I remember crying(yes am that emotional) when I heard she had been ‘tsunamied’ a word we use when our colleagues are told to go ‘home’ (compulsory resignation)
I personally learnt courage, diamonds are to be bold, I mean the gem stone diamond can’t be hidden,it shines bright! I remember the pencil and permanent marker analogy, telling us our names were written in pencil and can be erased until we passed our final training school exams. Our ‘first’ and most hammered core value: Integrity! The fact that it is also a watchword of the Isaac Ijaopo family where I am born into; it resonated so much with me
The flight from Abuja to Lagos after the classroom training for a chat with the then GMD Alex Otti as a prerequisite for recruitment so as to avoid recruitment error. My chat experience is also unforgettable. That was the experience that killed fear and timidity for me. I became unstoppable in the expression of the boldness I have always had. On the job, my ‘thief catching experiences’ made me explore my investigative mind even professionally.
The people, my internal customers, fellow diamonds!! Oh what a blessing! From my experience in the North to Southwest we are all a formidable crew!!
There came the rebranding, from the shades of grey to all the shades of beautiful, can anyone remember our lemon lanyard and our thoughts about it and it was later changed?
The revamped dress code, our lovely branded T Shirts, full of swag and style, the days where we will be told to dress interestingly and different, the opinion poll for beard or no beard, jeans or no jeans. The yammer gists, the face of diamond competition, the #bankonher #itsalovething competition that brought out my manifesto skills! lol
The advent of the new diamond structure as in buildings, the project 500, the tsunami lists, the F**bs 10 and D*W emergence. ( A True Diamond will be able to fill in the gaps)
Corporate Communications Unit and all their emails to announce the dress code, their swavy electronic announcement boards to give a pictural idea of what you are expected to wear, the interesting fliers, the Monday Motivation, the fact that we are even addressed as Dear Diamond sef Lasan!🤦🏻 and then my interview to join their team…..
The Diamond Woman Proposition,the #pressforprogress
The Diamond Woman stories: Anjola, Tk and Bella!! I enjoyed it so much I witnessed the book reading and bought the book sef now titled: Women of the Ayo-Keshinton Dynasty.
Thanks Olayemi Olusoga for making our Weekends and Mondays memorable those times and now because am sure we all can still remember 😁😍
My People, the book is now available for sale as you can see.
Then the feelings that came with the resignation of my good friends, colleagues turned family, how my heart will rip apart reading from them saying farewell (yes I said am that emotional) My chat boyfriends…..hahahaha (coveringface) My ‘can you imagine, pls give me the gist’ chat crew!!!
The competency development tests…
The come dressed in school uniforms because it’s children day palava!!
The end of the year parties…. The TGIFs….
How can I forget our super duper Diamond Mobile App and *426# customer mobilization at the branch level:Good Morning, welcome to diamond, have you downloaded our mobile app?
Its uncountable jor, it was all worth it. They are all occurrences that shaped my stay in Diamond Bank.
I had fun, I learnt lessons and also became a better person.
My Favourite slogans :
DIAMOND;Your Bank (you say it with phonetics and an attitude o)
ONE DIAMOND; Battle ready!!
The beautiful mines will be reconstructed, its undeniable our beautiful DIAMOND brand is gone.
Hmmmmm…… It’s a new season, The Diamonds have been ACCESSed.
Though the mine may be destroyed but WE Diamonds are Forever!! (YES O!) Therefore,it is now imperative to note that Diamonds don’t function in the mine, they have to be ACCESSed to be accepted….. Are you ready for tommorow?
However,in view of the kickoff of the merger on the 1st of April , if you have any experience with Diamond Bank as a staff that you will like to share for memories sake or even as a customer that you will like to be retained or worked on kindly put at the comment section.
What is coming is BIG, 3 Continents, 12 Countries ,29 million Customers!!!
Just as I earlier pointed out, an accuser is after your destiny! To slow you down, demoralise you and make you feel unworthy. Most times because you have a grace they have fallen short of or a height you are but they cannot attain!
The most unfortunate part will be if you don’t know your purpose or the importance of your calling, you will answer to every name calling!!
It is easier to overcome their ‘ministry‘ when you already are sure of who you are, you will quickly identify jealousy, envy, strife etc
I take a few biblical examples:
Jesus was accused so many times while he was on earth. There are so many examples as to how he was accused. He was not even received in His own clan, when He healed, they complained He was healing on sabbath, when He showed love they said He was sitting with unbelievers. At a point it was His disciples they had issues with, they were accused of not paying tithe, the other time it was about them not fasting….. Even on the cross, the bad mouth, bad belle people boku!!!
Job: Job 2:3-5 The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” Satan answered the LORD and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. “However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.”
Isn’t that just harsh? Smh!
The scenario happened between God and the devil, the devil wanted to slander and demerit Job, thank God that God is God,who knows all, still He had to show the devil he was wrong by testing Job.
Joseph: he was accused by his brothers, later by his boss’ wife.
Esther and Modecai were accused by Hamman due to sheer jealousy.
David: due to the lack of self esteem or is it the presence of low self esteem, insecurity and jealousy of Saul who he served sought to kill him.
It’s always safe not to be involved with slanderes and critics,no need to grant them access because they will definitely invite unnecessary test, storm and battles into your life, you might win at last because the truth of now is always the truth of 20yrs and a child if God can never be disadvantaged, it’s just that it all just does not worth it! It’s always ok to avoid war than to prepare for war!!!
The day you realise any of these people in your circle, no matter how close they seem to be, no matter how old the relationship or friendship, they should seize to have access to you, longevity is not in any way legality.
In recent times I have had to carefully choose who and what I listen to, lest I be dragged into the Web of wailers, both in doing, supporting or in being a victim!!! I guard jealously my heart because from there comes the issues of life.
Psalm 119:69-70 “Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart. Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law”
As humans, we need to evaluate our life at intervals to shut out toxic relationships. Who is speaking to and about your life matters, who you give access to your information matters, wisdom is profitable to direct.
Do you have encouragers or slanderes?
Always remember you are not always the problem, they could be the problem.
You just keep the good work, walk circumspectly, abstain from all appearances of evil and you will surely be a victor!!
1 Peter 2:12 Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.
I urge you to terminate quickly every relationship you have with an accuser…..
As for me: I am no longer a slave to fear! I am a child of God!!
Have you ever been innocent about an incident and you are accused of being guilty? The allegation is so perfectly curled, it’s beginning to look like you actually committed the offence
Just because the person gets opportunity to a demi semi fraction of information that has no actual connection to the incidence, in which you probably actually played a role, it’s amplified and used as a main subject.
I just described the ministry of an accuser!
As humans we need to be aware of that ministry!! It’s unfortunate that we don’t easily detect until it tears into our self esteem and we then begin to see ourselves as failures and inadequate….we even begin to act out the script that was played to us by accusation….we begin to become that person that we have been accused to be.
It is dangerously dangerous to live and have toxic people around you, they don’t only hinder your progress, they see no good thing in you, they even demerit you in the sight of people that have huge esteem of you, they just wanna pull you down, talk you down, marginalise you,be in competition with you…the list is endless.
Accusers are abusers!!! The effect of abusers is not hidden, they beat you, maybe not always physically but emotionally, they damage you, they perceive you as a victim,You may even begin to reflect abuse by being abusive depending on your self strength, you go into depression and you become hopeless…..
Abusers manipulate you in your area of weakness, they use your greatest needs to enslave you….
An accuser is a critic, unsympathetic and nothing is ever satiable in their sight, there just must be a fault, they seem to know all, they elate themselves higher than any mistake and every other person, they are the only one that can do it right!
An accuser cannot love you, love does not even keep records of wrong not to even think about acting, bringing to remembrance and doing sweet manipulation of tiny bits of your action to form a case!!
As Christians,Satan is mostly termed the accuser of brethren but my direct question is: does he come to dwell in the midst of us as he is spirit? Nope, he sends a critic,a slander and abuser either to the church as a whole or to individuals to truncate their God ordained destiny!
It is therefore very important that every human finds or knows his/her purpose in life. Knowing and understanding what you were made for allows you to identify and choose your right circle.
Let me stop here…watch out for part II
The remaining part of this month will be awesome for us all….its not yet late for that pleasant surprise….wait for it, it will come to pass!
As Nigerians prepares for the 2019 General Elections, the IndependentNational Electoral Commission (INEC) has released steps for voters to perform their civic responsibility.
The election which was rescheduled for tomorrow 22nd of February 2019 due to issues has said to have generated more international concern. Below are steps as a voter to cast your vote for your preferred candidate.
Step 1 Upon arrival at the polling unit, join the queue and present yourself to the INEC official (APO111) at the polling unit who will determine whether you are at the correct polling unit and check if the photograph on the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) matches your face. If satisfied, he/she will direct you to the next INEC official (APO1).
Step 2 The official (APO1) will request for your PVC to confirm that your card is genuine and your details, using the smart card reader. He/she will ask you to place your finger on the card reader to confirm that the PVC belongs to you by ascertaining, the card reader will contain the name, photograph and finger prints of all those registered in their polling unit.
Step 3 You will then meet the next official (APO11) who will request for your PVC to confirm that your name and details are in the voter’s register. Your name will be ticked and your PVC returned to you. He/ she will then apply indelible ink to the cuticle of your appropriate finger for that election to show you have been accredited to vote.
(If your name is not found on the register, you will not be allowed to vote).
Step 4 The presiding officer (PO) stamps, signs and endorses the date at the back of the Ballot Paper. The PO will roll the ballot paper inwardly with the printed side inwards and give to you. He/she will then direct you to the voting cubicle where you vote in secret.
Step 5 You will stain your appropriate finger for the election with the ink provided then use your stained finger to mark the space or box provided on the ballot paper for your preferred candidate/party. Roll the marked ballot paper (in the manner the PO gave to you).
Step 6 Then leave the voting cubicle and drop the ballot paper in the ballot box in full view of people at the polling unit.
Step 7 You will then leave the polling unit or wait if you so choose in an orderly and peaceful manner to work the process up to declaration of result.
Kindly note that the result of each polling unit shall be pasted at the unit and for everyone to see.
Please be aware that there are things you must not do at voting sights, INEC has sternly warned against these things
No campaigning for votes, or persuasion of voters to not vote for a candidate.
No shouting of slogans concerning the election, or in support of any party.
No one should be in possession of an offensive weapon or wear any apparel calculated to intimidate voters.
No one is allowed to use a vehicle bearing the colour or symbol of a political party or candidate
No one is allowed to loiter at polling units without lawful excuse after voting or after being refused to vote.
Normal one is allowed to snatch or destroy any election materials.
No one is allowed to blare siren.
Mobile phones are prohibited inside the polling booths when a vote is being cast, but can be used around the polling units.
President Muhammadu Buhari mentioned earlier this week that he’s instructed security agencies to be “ruthless” in dealing with ballot box snatchers, so you might want to take particular note of number 6, or pretty much everything, just to be safe.
Note that you can report election offences to the INEC situation room.
On each election day, according to INEC, polling stations will open for accreditation and voting from 8:00am to 2.00pm.
“However, voters on the queue before the close of poll at 2:00pm will be accredited and allowed to vote,” the commission noted.
It’s Love season and it’s worth celebrating. It is interesting to know that in this generation where everything is fast paced romance seems to still be acknowledged.
Majority of Voters chose that they will rather be in a romance(ful) instead of money(ful) relationship. View post and comment here:
In the light of this, this will be my take:
We must not fail to first of all remember and put to use the knowledge of the fact that romance is a component of Love.
We have the Eros which is the physical, sensual and sexual attraction kind of love between a male and a female or lovers as it were. This is the category of love when we have the butterfly buzzing, gish gish feeling towards our partner.
The Phillia allows couples to be friends with each other, they have that intimacy in friendship where they can bare their heart and soul and they have found a companion in each other. They share their lives, time, moment and help each other without stress.
While the Agape is the unconditional love that has transcended beyond reasons but to a position of choice. This kind of Love does not need the partner to be physically perfect, lovers only have to make the choice of sticking together and enjoying life as it comes there-in.
Love itself is not based on material things so if that relationship must work, we must take away prioritising meeting our material needs as the essence of a working relationship.
This simply means that choosing money over the seemingly ‘first stage’ of Love will be fowl. We already lost the game before we played it!!
Inasmuch as the importance of money cannot be over emphasised, I am of the school of thought that believes that if two people are in a working relationship, full of butterflies in the tummy and all the available drama that comes with it also solid friendship, where there is synergy, positive energy, selflessness and understanding there is no limit to what they can achieve and that thing called money they will have in excess because there would be sound mind and peace for strategizing and pulling one another up. Love is an experience worth having .It soothes the soul. Invest in friendship, feelings actually come and go. Only the choice that you make stays with you forever, therefore choose to Love and stand by it.
I hope this season brings you love in amazing places!!
I remember being in love with ebonylife TV… they were just starting out, I had seen the hype, advert and could not wait for the package to kick off!!
Of cos the station started in 2013 and I was always glued to that channel 165! Its ebony life!!
I also remember that I loved watching this late night show on Love with my lovely natural hair presenter Oreka Godis called Love Lounge. Interesting topics were discussed.
I remember they had controversial topics and they had professional panelists to discuss these topics too
I remember getting attracted to his contribution, I then decided to find him out!!
We all get to a point in our lives when we feel like we need to know more, we yearn for more knowledge about our area of interest and if you are inquisitive like me you will want to ask questions from the professionals!!
I yearned for Jerome’s involvement!
This quest was coupled with all the drama going on….

He is blunt and sensitive, he is quite wise.

Jerome Yaovi Onipede is a Personal Counselor/Relationships Coach and Matchmaker. He believes in Love and Romance and when it comes to living, he knows love has everything to do with it.
He says that Instead of running away from love, let’s rather look at where and how we are getting it wrong, become wise through our mistakes, and learn to love right and live well. We can learn to love God, ourselves, and others.
I just want to live my life, so what’s love got to do with it?
“I come across people everyday who are alive, but not living. Living does not happen because you are alive, but because you love. By ourselves we can enjoy life, but to really appreciate life we must find companionship.
Once you have learned to love, you will have learned to live, and you will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love.
The moments you told the truth, when you trusted another without reservation, when you had respect for another irrespective of differences. Those moments you felt closer, and not far away. Those were your living moments, because through love you covered a multitude of sins”
